Restaurant Cleaning Services

Restaurant cleaning is detail work, not general cleaning. A failed health inspection, a guest complaint about a dirty restroom, or grease buildup that turns into a fire risk all start in the same place: a cleaning program without structure.

Star Building Services runs structured restaurant cleaning programs across Texas, with hubs in Houston and Dallas. We have cleaned restaurants in this state for 17 years, and we currently service 35 high-end establishments, including one of the six Michelin-rated restaurants in Houston. Every program runs on three layers of supervision, documented inspections, and trained crews who know what front-of-house, back-of-house, and kitchen sanitation actually require.

The Real Cost of Inconsistent restaurant cleaning

Restaurants operate under stricter sanitation expectations than almost any other commercial environment. When cleaning falls apart, the consequences land fast:

  • Cross-contamination caused by skipped steps in food-prep zones
  • Restrooms that visibly miss guest expectations and show up in reviews
  • Failed health inspections that interrupt service or surface in public reports
  • Grease buildup on hoods, floors, and back-line equipment that becomes a fire risk
  • Cleaners who don't know the scope and either over-clean the wrong areas or miss critical surfaces

Generic cleaning routines do not work in restaurants. The work is detail-heavy, time-sensitive, and the standard is set by health inspectors and paying guests, not the cleaning crew.

Why Most Low-Cost Restaurant Cleaning Falls Apart

Low-cost providers compete on price the only way they can: fewer labor hours, less supervision, and no documented inspections. In an office that means dust on a windowsill. In a restaurant it means a Health Department report.

What goes wrong most often:

  • Service times shrink past what the work actually takes
  • Kitchen degreasing gets skipped on the busy nights it matters most
  • Inspections aren't documented, so the same problems repeat for months
  • No one is reachable when a manager needs a callback at 10 p.m.
  • Crew turnover stays high because food-safe training never happened

We have seen restaurants try the low-cost route, lose a health-grade letter, and call us six weeks later. Avoiding that cycle is what structured supervision actually buys you.

What Our Restaurant Cleaning Programs Cover

Every program is built around your kitchen layout, service hours, and compliance requirements. Core scope includes:

Commercial kitchen deep cleaning and stainless steel table sanitation services featuring manual hand-scrubbing.

Front-of-House Dining room cleaning and disinfection:

Table and seating sanitization, entryway and lobby maintenance, host-stand surfaces, and floor care matched to the flooring type.

Back-of-House and Kitchen Surface cleaning and degreasing:

Equipment-exterior cleaning, prep-area sanitation, dish-pit support, and floor-and-drain cleaning. For hood interiors and exhaust systems, see our dedicated hood cleaning services.

Floor Care for Restaurants:

Restaurant floors take more abuse than almost any commercial flooring. We schedule floor stripping and waxing on a cycle that fits your operations, and run targeted pressure washing for back-door zones, dumpster pads, and sidewalks

Restrooms Structured sanitation protocols built for high guest traffic:

Restrooms get inspected on every visit because they are the second-most-cited reason a guest leaves a negative review.

Scheduling Around Service Cleaning happens after close:

Before open, or on overnight shifts. We do not interrupt service. We coordinate with managers on alarm codes, key handoffs, and any post-cleaning checks.

Related Commercial Cleaning Services

Restaurant operations pair the recurring cleaning program with specialty services depending on the facility. NFPA 96 hood cleaning and 24/7 emergency response for post-incident situations are the most common pairings.

Centralizing restaurant cleaning with the broader specialty portfolio under one provider keeps the documentation, scheduling, and accountability working as a single program rather than juggling separate vendors.

What Our Restaurant Clients Say

The Three-Layer Quality Control That Sets Us Apart

Most janitorial companies stop at customer care. We do customer care, then we go further. Every account runs through three layers of inspection:

  • Supervisor inspection: Each supervisor inspects every account they own at least once per month, on top of their daily presence on-site during service launches.
  • Quality Control Lead inspection: Our QC lead inspects accounts independently with a more detailed eye, and also evaluates the supervisor's work.
  • Operations Manager inspection: A third evaluation by the ops manager closes the loop and catches anything the first two missed.

All three layers feed into the same software platform. Work orders, schedules, and inspection reports are centralized so we can show you exactly what was done, when, and by whom. That same system supports our 24/7 response line when something needs attention outside of business hours.

Our Onboarding Process for Restaurant Cleaning

  • A structured onboarding is what keeps the first 90 days from being chaos.
  • Walkthrough and scope: We assess kitchen layout, service flow, and sanitation requirements on-site.
  • Same-day proposal: Scope, frequency, and compliance considerations laid out plainly.
  • Discovery meeting: Operations Manager and QC Lead align with your team before service starts.
  • Supervisor-led service launch: Your supervisor is on-site for the first cleaning, working alongside the crew.
  • First-month communication: Constant check-ins for the first 30 days until the program is stable.

Service Coverage Across Texas

We service restaurants throughout Texas, with primary hubs in Houston and Dallas. Capacity is expanding into San Antonio and Austin as scheduling allows.
