Electrostatic Disinfection Services

A school called us at 4:00 PM on a Friday. A norovirus cluster had run through the cafeteria during lunch. Monday morning, 600 students would walk back through the same doors. By Sunday night, every cafeteria surface, every doorknob in the affected hallways, every shared lunch table, and every restroom touchpoint needed disinfection. They needed documentation for the parents and the school board. They needed it complete by Sunday night.

That is the work electrostatic disinfection was built for. Charged droplets that wrap around equipment and shared surfaces, not just the visible faces. Coverage on undersides and shadowed areas a wipe-down crew cannot reach. Documented dwell time. EPA-registered chemistry. One operator covering what would take a manual crew three times longer.

Star Building Services has run electrostatic disinfection programs across Texas since the technology became commercially viable. We deploy two named systems: the Clorox Total 360 with PowerWrap nozzle for hospital-grade pathogen control, and the Victory Cordless Electrostatic Handheld Sprayer for mobile multi-room work. Both are EPA-compliant when paired with the right chemistry. We service healthcare admin, schools and daycares, multi-tenant office, fitness facilities, food service, event venues, and government buildings across Houston, Dallas, and surrounding metros.

What Electrostatic Disinfection Actually Does

Electrostatic application gives disinfectant droplets a positive electrical charge as they leave the sprayer. The charged droplets are attracted to negatively charged surfaces, wrapping around equipment, undersides, and shadowed areas that manual wipe-down cannot reach. Once a surface is coated, additional spray repels off instead of pooling. Coverage is even, dwell time is controlled, and one operator can disinfect what would take a manual crew of three to wipe.

It is not a replacement for standard cleaning. Trash still has to come out. Surfaces still have to be wiped of organic load before disinfectant can do its job. Floors still have to be vacuumed and mopped. Electrostatic is the deep disinfection layer that sits on top of a standard janitorial program, deployed on a recurring schedule, after a confirmed outbreak, or as a one-off for sterilization-sensitive turnover.

When You Need Electrostatic, Not Just Standard Cleaning

Corporate office deep cleaning and open-plan workspace janitorial services featuring professional commercial backpack vacuuming.
  • Outbreak response Norovirus, flu wave, COVID-19, RSV, MRSA, hand-foot-mouth disease in a daycare. The pathogen is already in the building. You need it out by Monday.
  • Post-construction sterilization Before tenant move-in, before a clean-room handover, before a healthcare facility opens its doors.
  • Healthcare admin and clinics Between high-risk patient days. Between procedure shifts. After a confirmed exposure.
  • Schools, daycares, university dorms Between sessions. After a flu outbreak. During break-week reset.
  • Multi-tenant office tower After a confirmed case in a shared suite. Before reopening following the extended vacancy.
  • Event venues and museums Between high-traffic events. After exhibitions with extended public touch.
  • Fitness facilities and gyms Deep disinfection beyond the routine wipe-down.
  • Food service and restaurant prep Between shifts on high-volume days. After a confirmed foodborne event.
  • Hotel guest rooms Between guests during high-occupancy turnover. After an extended-stay departure.

If any of those slips, somebody on the team or in the We schedule around your operations. Most cleanings happen overnight or during slow hours so the kitchen does not lose service time.inbox notices within 24 hours.

Equipment We Deploy

We pair the equipment to the deployment scenario. Both systems below are EPA-compliant when paired with appropriate List N chemistry.

  • Clorox Total 360 System with PowerWrap nozzle Hospital-grade paired chemistry. Kills 99.9% of bacteria in 5 seconds. Kills cold, flu, MRSA, and norovirus in 2 minutes or less when used with Clorox Total 360 Disinfectant Cleaner. Inhibits the growth of mold and mildew for up to 7 days. EPA Reg. #67619-38. Eligible against SARS-CoV-2 per the EPA Emerging Viral Pathogen Policy. We deploy this system for healthcare, education, and hospitality accounts where dwell time and pathogen kill rates matter
  • Victory Cordless Electrostatic Handheld Sprayer Double-charged particles that wrap conductive surfaces, including verticals, undersides, and shadowed areas. Adjustable 3-in-1 nozzle for tight, general, and wide deployment. Cordless mobility for multi-room work without cable management. We deploy this system for outbreak response, multi-suite office tower work, and event venue turnover where access and speed matter.

Same operator-grade equipment chosen by hospital systems, healthcare clinics, and large-format event venues across the country.

What Our Electrostatic Disinfection Program Covers

Every program is built around your facility layout, service schedule, and the way the building actually gets used. Core scope includes:

EPA-registered disinfectant pairing.

Clorox Total 360 chemistry for paired Clorox deployments. Compatible List N disinfectants for Victory deployments.

High-touch surface disinfection

(Doors, handles, switches, shared electronics, conference equipment, elevator buttons).

Large-area deployment

For open floor plans, classrooms, gyms, production spaces, cafeterias, hotel guest rooms, and event venues.

Hard-to-reach surfaces

Including equipment undersides, shadowed corners, and complex industrial machinery.

Electrostatic spray application

Across full facility footprint, sized to scope.

Documented application

Scope checklist, dwell time logged, pre/post photos, signed certificate emailed for your records and your insurance file.

Bundled-program option

Add electrostatic to a recurring janitorial program at monthly, quarterly, or per-incident frequency.

Service triggers: outbreak response (24-72 hour deployment from call), recurring scheduled program (sized to facility risk profile), or one-off project (post-construction, event turnover, post-incident).

Why Cheap Disinfection Misses What Matters

Disinfection looks easy from outside the work. Spray a chemical, walk away. The shortcuts are predictable.

Some vendors use a standard pump sprayer instead of a charged-droplet electrostatic system. The droplets fall by gravity, leaving shadowed and underside surfaces uncoated. From three feet away the room looks treated. The pathogen is still on the underside of the desk.

Others spray a generic disinfectant not on EPA List N. When the AHJ or your insurance carrier asks what you used, you cannot defend the cleaning. The certificate is worthless.

Others spray and walk away in 30 seconds. The dwell time required for the chemistry to actually kill cold and flu is two minutes. If the chemical is wiped off or evaporates before that window, the disinfection did not happen.

Star’s response is structural. Trained applicators on Clorox Total 360 and Victory equipment. EPA-registered chemistry paired to the target pathogen profile. Documented dwell time per surface. Signed certificate. Pre and post photos. The work is auditable.

How Quality Stays Consistent

Trained applicators on specific equipment. Documented dwell time per surface. Signed certificate at sign-off. Pre and post photos. For the broader three-layer quality control mechanism that runs across our entire commercial cleaning portfolio, see our commercial janitorial cleaning services page.

Related Commercial Cleaning Services

Electrostatic disinfection is most effective layered onto a recurring cleaning program rather than deployed as a standalone one-off. The deep disinfection adds onto the recurring commercial janitorial program on a monthly or quarterly cadence, and our 24/7 emergency response line handles outbreak deployments within 24 to 72 hours of the call.

Centralizing electrostatic disinfection with broader cleaning under one provider keeps the disinfectant chemistry consistent, the dwell-time documentation in one place, and the AHJ-ready certificate aligned with the rest of the cleaning program on every visit.
